It was officially announced by An Post on Tuesday that Ballynoe Post Office would be one of the 159 small rural post offices due to close across the country.

According to An Post, Neville’s post office is expected to close in December of this year. 

This will be a huge blow to the small village in the St Catherine’s Parish which has already lost a number of services, business and amenities over the past number of years. 

“It’s going to effect us all,” said one local. “I get my pension there every week and I pay every bill I can possibly pay at the post office. I even top up my phone there.”
