Ballyhoura Development invites communities from across South & East Limerick and North East Cork to ‘Developing Progressive Communities’ – a one-day networking event which will take place in Croom Enterprise Centre on Saturday November 12th, from 9.45am to 1.30pm

The Forum will include an overview of the new LEADER Programme 2014-2020, and will provide attendees with an outline of the Expression of Interest and application processes for the Programme, as well as details of supports available. The event will also include a briefing from the Charities Regulatory Authority, outlining the roles, responsibilties and compliance required of community groups in order to comply with the recent charities legislation.

The morning session will conclude with an interactive session – Strength in Diversity – which will facilitate communities with pointers on how best to ensure that their projects and initiatives are planned with input from all sectors of their communities.

As well as providing an opportunity for individuals and community groups to network and to meet fellow community members, Ballyhoura Development staff will also host project advice clinics, after lunch, to individuals and groups seeking advice and guidance on how best to approach their potential projects.

As well as one-to-one project advice clinics, attendees will also be able to book appointments for the afternoon for hands-on demonstrations and guidance on how to ensure compliance with charity regulation, as it applies to community organisations.

There will be no charge to attend the forum which will run from 9.30am to 1.30pm, followed by lunch, and advice clinics in the afternoon, however since places are limited, booking is required .
