Dear Sir/Madam,

On this Wednesday, March 27th, seven representatives of the ‘Ballyhea Says No!’ and ‘Charleville Says No!’ groups, as part of the wider ‘Ireland Says No! to bank debt’ movement, will meet Sharon Bowles MEP, Chair of ECON, in Brussels, to present Ireland’s case for what our political representatives have singularly failed to even request, bank debt write-down.

We have been marching every week in Ballyhea and Charleville since March 6th 2011, 108 weeks now and counting, in protest at the private bank debt that has been imposed on the Irish people; this is the latest element of the campaign to have that bank debt burden lifted.

The meeting has been set up through the good offices of Brian Crowley MEP, to whom we express our thanks. Brian will sit in on the meeting, as will Marian Harkin MEP.

Following the meeting with Ms Bowles, we will be meeting with several other Irish MEPs to (a), report on what transpired with Ms Bowles and (b), express our hope that they will continue what we are starting, the battle for bank debt write-down for Ireland.

On Thursday we will be in the Dáil to meet with first the Technical Group, then with the Finance spokespersons for Sinn Féin (Pearse Doherty) and Fianna Fáil (Michael McGrath).

We are a non-political group with a single aim, to lift the odious bank debt from our shoulders. We will not be distracted.

Regards,

Fiona Buckley,

Rob Fitzpatrick,

Frances O’Brien,

Patrick O’Brien,

Diarmuid O’Flynn,

Phillip Ryan,

Cathleen Quealey.
