Ballygiblin’s hurlers are enjoying a great season to date and their year isn’t over yet.

Under the stewardship of the legendary, Cork full back, Diarmuid O’Sullivan, the club’s junior hurlers were crowned north Cork champions after a gap of 14 years.

Like every other club up and down the country, there are associated costs with running a successful club and fundraising is never off the agenda. With a view to raising finance, the club recently launched a draw which will run for 12 months (total cost €30) – alternatively people can contribute monthly.

There’s an attractive prize of a hotel break each month and the club are hopeful officers, players, mentors and supporters will get behind the initiative.

Speaking to The Avondhu at the launch, club chairman, Liam O’Doherty said, the draw was a vital source of revenue.

“We are delighted to have the O’Donoghue Ring Hotels Group in Killarney on board and with the necessary support this draw will be a financial success, it’s a vital source of revenue for the club” he said.
