Husband and wife, Liam and Ciara Flanagan, who are holding a fundraising night to help support four different organisations.

There will be a night of music, dancing and entertainment in The Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown on Saturday, September 21, to raise money for four different organisations.

To be hosted by Ciara Flanagan (nee Dunne), the night will feature 'The Booley House Show' (which she was part of for 23 years), 'Bachelors in Trouble' and an auction, while both Ciara and her husband Liam will be getting their heads shaved on the night. All of the funds raised on the night will go towards Pieta House, Friends of Marymount Hospice, Waterford Hospice and Let's Get Together Foundation - tickets are priced at €10.

Ciara is well known across The Avondhu area for her involvement in Irish music and dance teaching in Ballyduff Upper and she also works in COPE Foundation, Fermoy. She grew up in Lismore, but now resides in Kilfinane with her husband Liam and always wanted to do something for local charities. Those she has chosen are vital in terms of giving people palliative care and support for suicide and self-harm. 

"I know so many people who have been affected by cancer or suicide in their lives or in the lives of their families. I believe that if there is something you think you can do to help, then you should try to do it," she said.

The Booley House Show performers have just finished their summer season, so the fundraising night will give people a final chance to enjoy what they have to offer this summer.

Tom and Jack Coffey of 'Bachelors in Trouble' will be the MCs on the night, bringing lots of laughter and hilarity to the night and they will also host the exciting auction on the night.

The raffle will see a large number of prizes on offer on the night, including a cookery demonstration and lunch for two at Ballymaloe House, two tickets to Pat Shortt's show 'I am the band',  with the draw taking place on the night.

NO EXCUSES

The function room in The Firgrove can hold up to 500 people and to make sure that as many people as possible get the chance to support the night and enjoy the entertainment, Ciara has organised a number of buses, which are being kindly provided free of charge, but seats need to be booked in advance.

Johnny O'Donoghue will have a 14-seater bus leaving The Mousetrap Bar in Mallow at 7pm with a return journey at 1am. Tom Cavanagh will have a 53-seater bus leaving the park gates in Fermoy at 7.30pm and returning at 11pm; Paddy's Bus Hire will run a 16 seater bus from Conna leaving at 7pm and returning at 1am, while Griffin Coaches will run a service from Norman's Bar in Effin at 7pm and from Kilfinane at 7.15pm, returning at 12pm from The Firgrove.

Ciara thanks everyone who has helped her out so far with donations of prizes, money and time and also by providing entertainment, transport or other services to make the night a success and wants to thank everyone who has been involved in any way.
