Valerie Murphy, CEO of Avondhu Blackwater Partnership this week extended congratulations to all Tidy Towns Groups in the Avondhu Blackwater area on their recent awards and greatly improved points total generally, in the National Tidy Towns competition.
"There was a marked improvement in all areas and we understand the great effort it takes to get even a single mark gain in the competition," said Ms Murphy.
"Tidy Town groups are at the heart and soul of our rural towns and villages and consist mainly of dedicated volunteers. Their work and enthusiasm greatly enhances the image of our rural places, makes our towns and villages a better place to live and is vital to encourage tourism within the area."
Avondhu Blackwater Partnership are delighted to assist groups in whatever way possible through their many programmes.
