Aidan Foley Auctioneer, Doneraile will be conducting a 2-day auction on Monday and Tuesday next, August 21 and 22 of contents of the Ashford Castle estate, which is attracting considerable interest.
A Baby grand piano recently played by superstar musician Stevie Wonder during an appearance at a wedding in Ashford Castle is among the items to be offered for auction.
Over 850 lots will be offered for sale over the two days. These lots have become available for auction as the Red Carnation Hotel Group continue their investment on upgrades to the estate.
There are some exceptional antique items on offer, including an 18th Century Irish mahogany architect’s desk which is estimated at €3,000 – €5,000.
Also included are a large collection of Oriental porcelain chargers including a number of antique specimens.
Interior design professionals will find plenty exciting soft furnishing and curtains together with high quality hotel furniture under the hammer also.
The auction will also include a good selection of paintings, prints, tapestries and handwoven Persian carpets that would enhance homes and business premises.
