AROMA are a very active, community based group who have had another busy year. Their volunteers can turn their hand to pretty much anything and they certainly aren't afraid of hard work. Whether they get the level of backing they deserve is another question, but you certainly can't argue against their 'can do' attitude.

The group were heavily involved in last Tuesday night's enhancement awards which took place in The Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown. This was a very pleasant evening with representatives from a variety of streets and estates in attendance. A number of young people from Bunscoil na Toirbhirte and CBS were also present, to collect awards for their environmentally inspired essays - well done to: Cayleigh O'Neill, Natasha Rowan, Louise Devaney, Oisin O'Beirne, Ryan O'Keeffe and Keith O'Connor. Guest speaker was Eibhlin Walsh-Boland.

OVERALL WINNER

The overall winner was George's Street - one of town's most historic thoroughfares that's maintained to a consistently high standard. Other awards included: weed free (Kingston College); litter free (Mulberry Crescent) and best kept entrance (Moher Crescent).
