On June 8 of this year, people from Araglin and further afield, took part in a 8km walk through local countryside to raise money for Breakthrough Cancer Research.

The walk was held in memory of Mary Reidy-Kenneally and all those who have been affected by cancer. This event was very well supported and as a result the impressive sum of €9,136.00 was raised.

On Friday last, Breakthrough Cancer Research representative, Orla Dolan, visited Araglin Hall to collect the substantial cheque. Orla was very complimentary to the organising committee, those who walked and the many individuals and groups who gave so generously for this most deserving cause.

Orla went on to say that thanks to funding like this, significant progress was being made in the detection and treatment of cancer.

For their part the Reidy family said they were delighted to be associated with the fundraiser and they thanked everyone who participated, contributed or assisted in any way.
