John and Majella Roche of Roche’s Londis Doneraile were recently honoured in Dublin with a Gold Retailing Excellence Award, Customer Service of the Year Award and the Community Retailer of the Year Award. This follows their earlier winning of the National Q Mark which adjudged them to be 'The Best Convenience Store in Ireland'.

“Local insight, local service and local community engagement are key ingredients to running a successful local retailing business and persuading customers that shopping locally really is best,” according to Stephen O’Riordan, Chief Executive of ADM Londis, speaking at the Group’s 60th Anniversary Banquet and Retailing Excellence Awards.

To celebrate its 60th anniversary, Londis gave its customers the opportunity to share €60,000 between three national charities. A further €20,000 was raised through national and regional radio promotions and a coffee and cupcake morning in Londis stores nationwide. At the Group’s 60th Anniversary banquet on 3rd October, Pieta House, the Irish Hospice Foundation and Temple Street Children’s University Hospital were each presented with cheques representing a combined value of over €80,000.

The Londis Chief Executive, Stephen O’Riordan, said: " In presenting these cheques, we hope to give something back to the communities which have supported ADM Londis retailers for the past 60 years.”
