Following two hugely successful concerts in Kilworth on Saturday night (John Spillane) and Monday night (High Plains Tradition and Martin Gilmore), Bluegrass fans are in for another treat on Monday week (Feb 3) when the Nation and Blackwell Bluegrass Band take to the stage of The Village Arts Centre.

The band, from Georgia, USA, previously played in Kilworth as The Curtis Blackwell Bluegrass Band. The band features Curtis Blackwell (ex Bill Munroe Bluegrass Boys) on guitar/vocals; Chuck Nation (2013 Georgia State Fiddle Champion)on fiddle/mandolin and vocals and Gary ‘Biscuit’ Davis – a 3-time US National Banjo Champion who also plays in Dolly Parton’s band and co-produces her bluegrass albums. Completing the line-up is Susan Nation on bass and vocals.

This is classic hard-driving bluegrass at its best. Don’t miss it!

Tickets €15 from The Avondhu office, Fermoy (025-32227); Cotter’s Bar, Kilworth (025-27109 after 5pm); Hyland’s Bookshop, Mitchelstown (025-24528), from John on 087-7921771 or call 087-6492514.
