Liam's Lifts is a vital lifeline to those suffering serious illness. Regardless of time or date, the volunteer drivers always ensure patients get to their doctor or hospital on time.
Fermoy woman, Anne Dolan, who has undergone treatment for cancer, was hugely impressed by the dedication and commitment of everyone associated with Liam's Lifts and with the help of her friends she set about 'giving something back'.
Thanks to her extensive network of colleagues and associates, a very subsantial amount of money (€5,925) was raised.
Representatives from Liam's Lifts: Triona O'Flynn (chairperson), Yvonne Leahy (secretary) and Nelius O'Flynn (treasurer), were in Cheers Bar, Fermoy last Tuesday evening to collect this most welcome cheque.
Following the presentation, Anne thanked everyone who assisted her with a waxing/shaving event, a karaoke competition and a raffle – all of which were held in Cheers.
She also acknowledged the help of management and staff at Riordan's SuperValu, Fermoy (they held a no-uniform day), she went on to thank 'her own crew in Colaiste an Chraoibhin' (who also organised a no-uniform day) – Anne operates the school's canteen.
Responding, Triona O'Flynn said the cheque was a huge boost to Liam's Lifts, she said great credit was due to Anne and her team for raising such a splendid sum of money.
