Many will know Ann-Marie Corbett from seeing her buzzing around the family owned Corbett Court Restaurant at Ballinrush, Kilworth but most likely will not be aware that she is the founder behind an exciting new Irish-developed online virtual dressing room that allows users to ‘try on’ fashion items on a self tailored mannequin, before they make their purchase.

Launched this week, the free website and app (www.annmariesdressingroom.com) has already signed up over 50 international high street, designer, luxury and online brands.

“You see something you love, but you don’t know if it will suit you, or what to accessorise it with,” Ann-Marie says. “Often what I bought did not match my expectation and I often thought if only you could try it on – well now you can!”

www.annmariesdressingroom.com is a personal on-line, any-time, dressing room where you can try before you buy from the fashion world’s top high street and designer brands.

“Shopping online can sometimes be ‘challenging (and a little scary)”

Ann-Marie herself says she knows from experience that shopping online can sometimes be ‘challenging (and a little scary)’.

Ann-Marie explains just how simple it is: “Customers can log on to Ann-Marie’s Dressing Room, select their skin tone, hair colour and style (and add you own face if you wish) and virtually try on the latest new season looks from top high street, online and designer brands.

“These include thousands of ‘just in’ dresses, separates and the latest trends from the catwalks of New York, London, Paris and Milan. You can then accessorise your look with an extensive selection of shoes, jewellery, headpieces and more. Then, once you try, if you like your look, simply click, select and buy.”

Research indicates that Irish women alone spend in excess of €280 million annually on clothing online with this figure growing year on year. However, making the right choices online, for all occasions from leisure to work and special events is important and frequently the expectation of what an item may look like when worn and how it presents when delivered, can be very different.

Consumers also find it difficult to visualize how fashion items from different brands will actually look when worn, and how to mix and match looks and accessories on line from different labels to achieve a total look.

Ann-Marie’s Dressing Room allows users to virtually try on, style and accessorize an extensive selection of looks from top brands from high street to luxe, all on the one platform. Then if they like what they see, they can click to buy from the brands’ websites.

The site is under constant development and is evolving in functionality daily.  Brands currently signed up include Karen Millen, French Connection, boohoo, Missguided, Kenzo, Alexander McQueen, Ted Baker, New Look, Monsoon and many more.
