It's all systems go in Anglesboro this weekend as locals prepare to host their annual harvest fair. The people of Anglesboro take a lot of pride in this long established event and everyone pulls together to ensure it runs smoothly.

This Friday night sees another installment of the very popular 'Thorny Rose' pageant which never fails to entertain. There's bingo in the hall on Saturday night and then 'harvest Sunday', which incorporates an inter-school football blitz, dog show, tug-of-war and other attractions.

CREAMERY RE-ENACTMENT

This year's big draw is the re-enactment of the closing of Anglesboro Creamery. John McGrath is the man charged with overseeing this ambitious undertaking. According to John, who has a wealth of theatrical experience behind him, the plan is to transport people back in time and re-create scenes that would have been commonplace in the 1930s, 40s and 50s. John has drawn the bulk of his actors/actresses from Anglesboro Drama Group and it's understood that rehearsals have been going very well.

The eagerly anticipated re-enactment is timed for 3.30pm on Sunday and everyone is welcome to attend. As with all community events, public participation is vital and the expectation is that substantial crowds will turn out this weekend to celebrate yet another harvest fair in Anglesboro.
