Affected by a sudden cardiac death or living with an inherited cardiac condition?

A special national event hosted by CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) Ireland later this month will provide an opportunity for families to engage with leading voices in cardiology and research, and hear personal stories from people who have been affected by a sudden cardiac death or living with an inherited cardiac condition.

Taking place in Barberstown Castle, Straffan, Co Kildare, this free event will see broadcaster, journalist and author Anton Savage serve as master of ceremonies on Saturday, 13th September.

The line-up features a host of medical specialists; special guest, extreme adventurer Damian Browne, who will share his powerful message  on unlocking your true potential; Orla Foley, founder of Orla’s Wild Ways and sister of the late-Ireland and Munster rugby player Anthony Foley, who will talk about how the loss of her brother Anthony at age 42 inspired her to fundraise for a number of charities including CRY Ireland; along with Brid Carroll, bereavement psychotherapist and educator, presenting on grief and family support.

Families affected by a sudden cardiac death or living with an inherited cardiac condition are being encouraged to attend, with the event running from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Registration is essential and places can be booked at the ‘Friends of CRY 2025’ listing on Eventbrite.ie or by emailing friends@cry.ie
