Ballyporeen Handball Club

The Irish 40/20 Irish adult nationals will take place over two weekends. The qualifiers take place on Sunday, 3rd of April at venues nationwide. The finals of the adult nationals will be held on the weekend Friday, 29th April to Sunday, 1st May at Belfast venues.

The club will have two players in action at these nationals with Willie Cahill and Mikey Maher entered in these adult nationals.

Willie Cahill will again be in action in the men’s challenge singles event, where he reached the final of this event in 2015.

Willie again showed up well in the 2016 40/20 season reaching the Munster final in the masters (B) singles. Willie will be one of the favourites in this year’s nationals and hopes will be high he can do well.

Mikey Maher has also entered in the men’s C singles and will be one of the top players in this grade having done well in his 1st year in adult grade, reaching the Munster final in the junior (B) singles. Mikey is an excellent handballer and will be hard to beat if he plays to his best form.

Best of luck to our two players, Willie and Mikey in their quest for national honours.
