‘Adoption Stories’ trail leads to Mitchelstown

The next episode of ‘Adoption Stories’ on TV3 will feature the story of Geraldine McCarthy from Co Clare who found her birth mother through information in her file, only to discover through DNA tests that ‘the powers that be’ had the wrong person.

The next episode of ‘Adoption Stories’ on TV3 will feature the story of Geraldine McCarthy from Co Clare who found her birth mother through information in her file, only to discover through DNA tests that ‘the powers that be’ had the wrong person.

Geraldine McCarthy was born in the Castlepollard’s Mother and Baby home in Co Longford in 1958. Six months later she was adopted and brought to live in Ennis. Being aware that she was adopted, she had always harboured thoughts of finding her birth mother and began searching for her in the early 1990s . . .

This episode of ‘Adoption Stories’ airs tonight, Thursday, June 25 at 8:30pm on TV3.
