Adair National School Fermoy are one of 9 Cork schools to have been named as regional finalists in the prestigious annual Our World Irish Aid Awards, which is the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s flagship global citizenship programme for primary schools.
The pupils and their teacher will now travel to the Triskel Arts Centre in Cork on Thursday, May 16 to showcase their project which focuses on the global goals set by the United Nations in 2015, looking at how those goals could be applied to their school community, their locality, their country and their world.
This year, primary schools across the country have been exploring the theme of ‘Leave No One Behind’ which recognises that each and every person counts and deserves a fair opportunity, regardless of who they are and where they live.
