On this Saturday, 5th October at 3pm, Your Man’s Puppets presents 'The Musical Menagerie', a charming piece combining the musical imagination of multi-instrumentalist, improviser and composer Boris Hunka, with the skills of renowned puppeteer and actor, Thomas Baker. The result is a magical blend of entertainment and escapism. Two bored zoo-keepers pass their time reminiscing about the adventures they have had, telling of a tall tale about a gibbon who lost his tail. In search of the missing member, the zookeepers encounter exotic animals from far and wide. The magical musical is told with original songs, suitable for 5 years and upwards. Tickets €6.

FILM - 'THE SESSIONS'

On Wednesday, 9th October, Friars’ Gate screen the acclaimed film, 'The Sessions'. The film features outstanding performances from a first-rate cast — John Hawkes, riveting as O'Brien, opposite Helen Hunt and William H. Macy. 'The Sessions' relates Mark O'Brien's quest to finally lose his virginity in his late thirties. Mark’s body was contorted by polio, and he spent most of his hours confined to an iron lung. A warm, heartfelt study in generosity and desire, it is also a rare film that acknowledges the erotic lives of people with disabilities. Tickets €7.

AN EVENING WITH TOMMY FLEMING

Multi-Platinum winning artist Tommy Fleming makes a welcome return to Friars’ Gate on Friday, 11th October at 8pm. Tommy has many times been described as 'The Voice of Ireland’ and is one of Ireland’s top entertainers. Tickets €27.50.
