Minister Sean Sherlock has confirmed to The Avondhu that the Live Register in North Cork has fallen 12.7% in the past 12 months and that the numbers have fallen 27.6% since the Labour-Fine Gael Coalition took office.
“This Government set a target of reducing unemployment and getting Ireland back to work,” said Minister Sherlock.
“That target extends to North Cork as well. I have worked hard to attract new industries such as ABEC in Fermoy and support indigenous companies such as EPS in Mallow. I am in regular contact with a host of State agencies working to attract companies to the North Cork region.”
Minister Sherlock also highlighted the impact that the Government has had since it took office with a 27.6% reduction in the Live Register.
“Government is having a positive impact on these numbers. The next challenge is ensuring these numbers remain down and people remain in good, well-paid employment,” stressed Minister Sherlock.
