Outbuildings of homes in three area locations were targeted by thieves in one night last week. The thefts occurred in Killavullen, Rathcormac and Castlelyons.
In the Kilavullen incident fuel was taken from an oil tank as well as a lock being broken on a shed to gain entry. A chainsaw was also taken, along with a number of power tools from the shed of an unoccupied house in Rathcormac the same night. Also on the same evening in Castlelyons a stable was entered and horse tack stolen.
The incidents are believed to be linked. A white van was seen acting suspiciously in the general vicinity of one of the incidents. Investigating Gardai ask that anyone who may have seen the van, or any suspicious activity, to contact them.
