It’s been a slow process but a number of Araglin roads, in urgent need of repair, are being earmarked for a significant upgrade. Public representatives (councillors Kevin O’Keeffe, Pa O’Driscoll, Noel McCarthy and Frank O’Flynn) were forwarded the information at last Tuesday’s regular, Fermoy electoral area meeting in Mitchelstown Courthouse.

The roads to benefit are in the townlands of Billerough, Lyre, Crinnaghtane and Ballard – a section of Glenduff, which is close to the Mountain Barracks, has also been included.

A 1,000 metre stretch of road which the engineers refer to as the ‘Billerough/Araglin National School road’ (road number 1423) is also in line to be repaired – at a cost to Cork County Council of €57,600
