The return of Grangemore Landscapes as the contractor for the county council’s grass cutting programme for Fermoy for 2013, was welcomed this week by local Councillor Olive Corcoran. She welcomed first of all the fact that they were local contractors and then said the stipulation of a specified number of cuts was a good idea.

The contractors cut the green area at Cairn Court this week, where the local councillor lives. “Not only did they pick up the grass but they swept the footpath afterwards. They did a good job. If they continue to work to that standard residents will be very happy,” she commented.

Last year there was a litany of complaints about grass cutting in various estates around the town, with residents giving out that grass wasn’t cut often enough and when it was, that it was left to blow around the place causing an unsightly mess.
