Some of the region's best singers and musicians were in The Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown last weekend to take part in the Kilshanna Arts Festival.

The 2-day festival attracted upwards of 200 competitors with locals acquitting themselves very well against the visitors. A panel of independent adjudicators officiated at the event where winners were presented with specially commissioned medals and certificates.

Everyone who attended, left hugely impressed by the quality of all the youthful performers, who competed in disciplines such as singing, musical theatre, piano, strings and guitar. Supportive parents were on hand for the duration of the festival and organizers are also very grateful to local businesses who provided sponsorship. Attendees had the chance to win some attractive prizes in the festival raffle.

Kilshanna Music, Arts and Drama Studio was set up 15 years ago and continues to produce outstanding performers. The studio was delighted with how things went last weekend and it hopes to repeat the exercise in the near future.
