In a follow up to his best selling publication 'Irish Birds & Eggs', Fermoy resident, Christy Dorgan has written a thrilling bilingual account about the life and times of an Irish golden eagle called King Brian.

The spectacular eagle, which was once native to these shores, holds a particular fascination for Christy who carried out much of the research for his book in Killarney National Park. A carpenter, ornithologist, rare book collector and raptor expert, Christy believes he has hit on another winner with his just published book.

"EXCITING PROJECT"

"It's the story of an Irish golden eagle (King Brian of Killarney) which starts in Donegal and moves on to west Kerry, it's accessible to all age groups and follows the many adventures of this magnificent bird. The story is in both English and Irish and contains many spectacular drawings, which have been brilliantly reproduced by Litho Press. It will be available from this weekend on - in addition I'm including a free CD with an original song by John Bennett. I'm also extremely grateful to my good friend, Tomás Ó Briain, for translating the book into Irish. It's a very exciting project and I'm very enthusiastic about it" Christy told The Avondhu this week.

Christy has committed countless hours to his labour of love which he predicts will have widespread appeal. Someone with a passion for nature, Christy hopes the book will increase awareness about a bird that has intrigued humans since the dawn of time.
