The new Sue Ryder Foundation shop in Fermoy is now celebrating one month since its opening and with many people trying to survive on less income, customers are seeking out bargains in this economic climate.

The manager of the shop, Mary Shanahan from Caherdrinny, between Mitchelstown and Fermoy, told The Avondhu that she has a great team of volunteers with her and that support locally has been amazing.

Located near the Post Office where Campari fashion boutique was previously, Mary said that they are in a prime location and boast a fine selection of books, with every genre and age group catered for, from the tiny little budding book worm right up to senior readers.

Mary said that the shop take in donations of men's, women's and children's clothing, as well as household furniture, footwear, accessories, toys, household items, books, DVD's and bric-a-brac.

STRONG SUPPORT

"People really get value in here and you never know what you will find. There are a lot of designer items and not only will people be helping to raise money for the care of the elderly, but they will also be nabbing great bargains for themselves," Mary told The Avondhu.

"I really want to thank the people of Fermoy and surrounding areas for their generous and kind donations. I'm overwhelmed by the donations and they continue to pour in - it's unbelievable," Mary added.
