On June 27, 2013 we said goodbye to our playschool class of 2013. Our playschool was at capacity this year and a great year was had by all involved. Trena, Edel and all the staff here at the centre wish the children and their parents all the very best as they take the next step into 'big school'. Trena and Edel are looking forward to welcoming our new group of children into Jolly Tots Playschool at the end of August.

On Thursday, July 18, we held an open morning at the Resource Centre. The board of management and staff of the Fermoy Community Resource Centre would like to thank the members of our community and surrounding areas who turned out to support us. All monies raised on the day will go directly into supporting in-house services at the Resource Centre.

Our friends from Cope held a successful Arts and Crafts Sale outside in the Courtyard of the Resource Centre; the sun shone brightly on a wonderful display of flowers, cushions, slate craft, candles holders and painting. Music came courtesy of an old style jukebox, which was kindly loaned to us by our neighbour Jim.

Meals on Wheels operate three day a week, 52 weeks of the year from the Fermoy Community Resource Centre. Our state of the art kitchen is a hive of activity every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning. Our in-house staff are well supported by a team of volunteers who delivered the meals to members of our community. If you would like to find out more about our Meals on Wheels service please feel free to contact us on 025-32962.

Weight Watcher’s meetings are held at the Resource Centre every Tuesday night at 6pm and UniSlim meetings are held every Wednesday night at 6pm, these meetings take place in the Cahill Room which is one of our very popular meeting rooms in the centre. We offer room hire to group and organisations at very affordable rates. If you would like to find out more about any of the above please do not hesitate to contact us on 025-32962.

There are currently two vacancies within our centre under the FAS community employment programme. One is based in our in-house Playschool and the other is for a night-time supervisor/reception. For further details on these positions please contact your local social welfare department.
