Rebel Red Day well supported by teachers and students

It was a case of pinning your colours to the mast, when primary school students throughout the area rose to the occasion for Rebel Red Day.

Friday was a fun and colourful day for many students and teachers across Cork schools, as they all came into the classrooms sporting red and white ahead of Cork's All-Ireland final hurling encounter versus Clare at the weekend.

While it was Rebel Red Day by name, given the location of many of the schools near other county borders, a number of students came into school not sporting the red and white for Cork, but rather supporting their own county, with the principal in Shanballymore National School, Michael O'Sullivan for instance wearing his Limerick jersey to school on Friday.

The day is a great chance for students and teachers alike to support their county hurlers and with the final leading to a drawn game and a replay in two weeks time, perhaps they will get another chance to bring their sporting colours back into the classroom.
