It’s all go in Glenroe National School, as they welcomed seven new pupils into different classes at the start of the school year.

Principal Michael Dennehy told The Avondhu that the parents are particularly pleased with the pupil teacher ratio, as the two teachers, himself and Ms Niamh Condon, can give personal attention to each pupil, while there is also a Learning Support and Resource teacher.

He added that Ms Condon has the junior room looking its best and all of the new junior infant students are settling into life in the school very well. “Her dedication and attention to detail have ensured that the new infant pupils are being taught with great expertise and care,” the principal said.

Mr Dennehy explained that the school boasts many fine facilities with interactive whiteboards, great PE equipment, generous yard space and an adjoining school pitch for field games.

“The atmosphere in the school is warm and friendly. Many, many pupils are proud to say that they attended Glenroe National School, which is at the heart of the community here.

“We are looking forward to another great year of education here in Glenroe school, ‘ag fas agus ag forbairt’,” Principal Dennehy said.
