Repairs on Ramsey’s Lane in Castlelyons are to be carried out within the next six weeks, the Fermoy electoral area committee meeting was told recently.

Cllr Noel McCarthy had called for surface repairs. He wants similar works carried out on the L5783-18 at Cronovan, Bartlemy. He was told those works too would be done within the next six weeks.

There was no joy though for works he wanted done at the Rathcarrig Estate in Fermoy. He asked that lining be provided to mark out parking spaces there to maximise usage, as without the markings, he said, some people were taking up two and three parking spaces.

Senior council engineer Brendan O’Gorman told him there’s no funding in the current year to do the work but that he’d look to do it in 2014.

Cllr McCarthy was told the same thing about road markings throughout the Abbey Farm housing estate in Mitchelstown, i.e. no money for it to be done this year but the engineer would look at getting it done next year.
