Youth arrested following Shanballymore break-in

A local youth was arrested following a break-in to a house on the Main Street in Shanballymore on Wednesday last.

A local youth was arrested following a break-in to a house on the Main Street in Shanballymore on Wednesday last. A rear door was forced to gain access but nothing was taken. The youth was interviewed by Gardai and is due to appear in court in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, a kitchen window was smashed at a house in Castletownroche on Saturday last sometime between 7.30pm and 11.30pm. The house was ransacked and an Apple I-Pad taken.

Gardai are interested in talking to anyone who may have seen a dark-coloured Volkswagen car acting suspiciously in the area between 10 and 10.30pm that night. Also last Saturday night, a house in Greenhills, Fermoy was entered sometime between 7.30pm and after midnight. The front door was forced there and a substantial amount of cash and jewellery was taken.

Gardai are also investigating a burglary at a house in Ballyhooly village that was reported to them on Monday. A kitchen window was forced to gain access there.
