Funding of €610,000 was announced on Wednesday for a new water scheme for Conna.

Welcoming the allocation, Fine Gael TD Tom Barry said the first phase of the works will see a new reservoir installed to service the village and an upgraded distribution system. The latter will feed into the regional supply and consequently will benefit outlying areas,” he said.

Cllr Kevin O’Keeffe has also welcomed the news. “This funding has come after a long battle and I am very happy with this allocation, especially for the people of the Conna district who have waited a long time for it,” he said.
