A motion tabled by Cllr John Murphy at the last Fermoy Town Council meeting, that missing street nameplates be replaced, was passed by members.

Cllr Murphy said several streets had no name signs and it led to confusion in a number of instances.

Town council engineer, John O'Leary stated that he had carried out a survey of the missing signs himself and suggested he compare notes with Cllr Murphy.

Town clerk, Pauline Moriarty reminded both that there would be a cost involved in replacing the missing signs. Cllr Murphy said he was mindful of that, but hoped that funding would be allocated for what he considers to be an important project.
