‘Windfall’ CLÁR funding announced for local groups

Local clubs across Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford are beneficiaries of the latest round of CLÁR funding, confirmed on Monday morning this week.

Among the projects to receive funding are walking trails, carpark resurfacing, and new sound system and lighting equipment for communities.

Galtee Gales GAA in Kilbehenny were awarded almost €45,000 for multipurpose equipment and a planned sensory room (see separate story). Meanwhile, the local primary school in Kilbehenny, just a few yards away from the GAA field, was granted €50,000 for resurfacing of the playground; this adds to the new facade, as the school recently put down AstroTurf grass at the front of the school.

Meanwhile, Glenroe GAA in county Limerick also got €50,000 for a covered and accessible spectator stand, while Ballylanders GAA received the same amount for an accessibility upgrade to the clubhouse …
