Fermoy is to be the pilot for a new north Cork epilepsy outreach service. It’ll be launched on Wednesday next, November 27th at the Fermoy Community Resource Centre on MacCurtain Street, to take place from 10am to 5pm.

“We hope to be able to go to Mitchelstown, Fermoy and Mallow on a monthly basis as long as our budget lasts,” Mary Lawlor, community resource officer with Epilepsy Ireland, said this week. “We have been advocating for this service for north Cork for years and we are delighted to be able to pilot it in Fermoy. It is needs-led so, if the demand is there, we will be in attendance on a monthly basis,” she explained.

People with epilepsy, their families or carers can make appointments for a one-to-one consultation on the launch day. They are by appointment to allow sufficient time and attention to those who attend. Appointments can be made by ringing Mary on 021 4274774 or e-mailing her at mlawlor@epilepsy.ie
