Pádraig O’Sullivan, Fianna Fáil Local Area Representative for Little Island, Glounthaune and Glanmire, There has been a call for urgent action to be taken regarding the Brooklodge West public road at the foot of the Marwood Housing Estate in Riverstown, Glanmire.

Deputy O’Sullivan (Fianna Fáil), has once again made representations to Cork County Council regarding the construction of a footpath as it is a route frequently used by pedestrians and school children at times of peak traffic.

“There have been numerous incidents on the road and unfortunately quite recently a young, school going girl from the area was struck by a vehicle.”

Imploring the local authorities to prioritise the work as a matter of urgency ‘before another serious incident occurs’, he said safety of pedestrians must be a priority and a footpath on this stretch will ensure a safe passage way for everyone.
