The search for the Cork Rose kicked off on International Women’s Day last Friday, with the 2023 rebel Rose, Kate Shaughnessy, launching this year’s search at the Rochestown Park Hotel.
Speaking at the launch, Ms Shaughnessy encouraged anyone considering taking part to apply.
“It will be bittersweet for me as I have loved every minute of it, but I am so excited to meet all the new Cork Rose entrants and for the amazing experience they’re about to start”.
Prior to the selection on the 8th June, entrants will enjoy several days out including a Rose tour around some of Cork’s finest establishments and landmarks; the woman chosen to represent Cork at the Rose of Tralee International Festival will enjoy a wonderful fortnight in August, beginning with the Rose Tour alongside the other national and international Roses, and once in Tralee, the chance to take part in the parades and gala functions and of course, rounded off with her live interview on RTÉ.
The Rose of Tralee International Festival will take place this year from Friday, August 16th to Tuesday, August 20th. Those interested in applying for the Cork Rose selection can apply online, or meet the Rose team at one of three information evenings being held in the county: in Clonakilty on March 14th, Youghal on March 21st, and finally Charleville on March 28th.
