Dear Editor,

I shall be purchasing this book asap as I am hoping it will give me more information than Google on James Casey – my grandmother’s brother, who was killed in the Mitchelstown Massacre.

My maternal Grandmother was Annie Lehane (nee Casey). I have just started on my family tree and have had no idea of the history of this tragic event and the righful subsequent international condemnation of the perpetrators. I should be grateful if you could let me have any other referal addresses I could contact to get as much information as possible.

The earliest census’ for Cork was 1901. My maiden name was Hennessy and I left Cork at 18 in 1958. Any help you can give would be very much appreciated.
