Road repairs are to be carried out on the L1514 at Corrin, Fermoy and on the L15082-0 at Ballymacallen, Ballyhooly, Councillor Noel McCarthy was assured at the recent meeting of the Fermoy Electoral Area Committee of Cork County Council.

Cllr. McCarthy also asked that road markings and signage be put in place at Kirby’s Cross in Castlelyons to improve visibility. He was told by Senior Area Engineer, Brendan O’Gorman that road markings and stop signs are already in place at the cross. A major realignment would be required to improve the layout of the junction.

While he undertook to get the council’s design team to carry out a provisional investigation of the area, he warned that any resultant works would be very much in the long term.
