Life can sometimes be a little overwhelming and many families may find themselves under pressure and unsure how to cope.

To address this, IRD Duhallow will hold an information seminar on Tuesday next, December 10 at 7.30pm in the James O'Keeffe Institute in Newmarket.

Guest speakers Margaret O'Connor, a counsellor and mental health facilitator and David Holden, the Cork regional representative from St Vincent de Paul will speak at the talk, which is entitled: 'Hometruths: Helpful ways to overcome the pressures facing families today'.

A spokesperson for IRD Duhallow said that they recognise the need to host an information like this, as they encounter people from all walks of life in the community and they see firsthand the kind of pressures families are under.

"In rural areas, it is particularly important to facilitate such information seminars, as people in rural communities can often feel isolated from services and amenities. Anyone who feels like they are struggling to cope may find this evening helpful and there will be a question and answer session towards the end of the evening, where they will be given the opportunity to ask the speakers questions," the spokesperson added.

All are welcome to the free talk, but people are asked to register for the talk by calling Fiona on 029-60633 and light refreshments will be served on the night.
