CHRISTMAS DOUBLES TOURNAMENT

We had a great night last Thursday night for the culmination of our festive doubles tournament. The magic of Christmas was definitely in the air as we had carol singing, cracker pulling, fancy dress and loads of Christmas treats.

Tennis seems to have been only secondary on the list of priorities as everyone got into the spirit of things. The Elves and The Reindeers were first into the clubhouse for festive drinks following their semi-final eliminations, leaving The Santas and The Snowmen to contest the final. The Santas won an entertaining final 15-12 with Jamesie playing well while testing a new sports drink!

Both teams were presented with lovely festive prizes by Margaret Hyland from The Favourite and Scullery. Thanks to Mike Waldron and Catherine Rea for running such a successful tournament, and to anyone who helped make the finals night extra special. Well done to all who got into the Christmas spirit by dressing up, etc.

The biggest cheer of the night was reserved for one of our junior members, Mikey Keating, who received the 'Fair Play' award. Mikey really epitomised the spirit of fair play throughout the tournament. Well done Mikey.
