A once ‘thriving’ village is now ‘dying’ and has been referred to as ‘the forgotten village’ as it faces a host of issues including environmental matters, halted development and unflushable toilets, all due to the lack of a sewerage system.
Pressing on local representatives including councillors and TDs, the Kilbehenny Sewerage Action group are calling for action to be taken and for the emission, of what they claim to be ‘raw sewage’, into the River Funshion to be stopped.
On Friday last, April 28, there was a strong turnout at Kilbehenny Community Centre as members of the community and local representatives gathered to discuss the issue of the sewerage system in ‘the forgotten village’.
