Houses in Fermoy and Mitchelstown were broken into in the past week. The burglary at the house in St. Joseph's Square in Fermoy occurred between 4 and 5pm on Thursday last when a rear window was forced to gain entry. A sum of cash and jewellery was taken. A youth of around 5' 6" in height with curly hair and wearing a grey tracksuit pants and a light coloured hoodie, was reported to gardai as having been seen in the vicinity at the time.

In Mitchelstown on the same evening, a house was entered in O'Neill Crowley Terrace and a small sum of cash taken. The house was ransacked. The owner discovered the break-in when he arrived home to discover the door, which he'd locked, ajar.

Elsewhere, fuel was reported to have been taken from a digger overnight in Castletownroche on Wednesday. Diesel was also reported stolen from an excavator at Lagan Quarry at Kilnadrew, Mitchelstown sometime over the weekend.
