Planning permission to redevelop the former Garda Station in Ballyduff into short-stay holiday accommodation has been granted, subject to 12 conditions.
Submitted to Waterford City and County Council in November 2022, the application seeks the change of use of the three-storey former Garda station, including the internal refurbishment and reconfiguration of the existing structure with a revised internal layout to form a 6-bedroom short-stay holiday accommodation facility with associated ancillary living space, servicing and guest facilities.
Arkle ULC, the applicant, also sought the partial demolition of the one-storey outbuilding to the rear of the existing protected structure within the courtyard to replace it with an expanded single-storey extension.
According to the applicant, the single-storey extension will provide for occasional community use and as an event space.
