"It's a great thrill regardless of how many I've won."

So said Fermoy man Noel O'Callaghan who returned home with another All Ireland Racquetball Championship title under his belt from Wexford recently.

It was Noel's 21st All Ireland win from 24 championships. The formidable player beat Kilkenny's Mark Murphy to take the title. He's played Mark many times down through the years in various competitions.

Noel says competing in All Ireland finals is still a great challenge as well as a thrill because players won't all have the same level of skill. He's particularly pleased to have taken the title this year as he'd struggled with a few injuries at the start of the season.

Last year Noel, from Barry's Court, Fermoy, won the European Racquetball Championships Mens Open Singles title. He turned 40 the same year. Noel credits his two boys with helping him keep fit.

"I spend my time running around after them," he joked this week.
