The end is now firmly in sight for the Mitchelstown Leisure Centre, as the builders are preparing to move off the Canon’s Field site and the new centre manager started this week, ahead of the projected opening in just two months time.

One of the things which drew Kristine Meenaghan to the leisure centre, was the fact that it is only just opening this summer and she told The Avondhu that she is looking forward to shaping the way the centre develops.

After completing her degree in Sports Management in Waterford, she went on to do a Masters in Sport and exercise psychology, as it allowed her to develop another aspect of sports and recreation.
