Coolnakilla Harriers Club continued a long-standing tradition with the hosting of their annual dog show in Rathcormac last Sunday.

A decent sized crowd attended with the hunting and lurcher fraternity well represented. The venue was the car boot sale field which has easy access and ample parking - given its prominent location, it's an ideal venue for this kind of event.

Terriers, hounds and gun dogs competed for the rosettes with family pets also getting their chance to shine. A feature of the show was the great shape these animals are in and this reflects well on their proud and conscientious owners. What was also notable was the number of young dog owners in attendance - all of these individuals take their ownership responsibilities very seriously.

Like all well run groups, Coolnakilla Harriers Club places great emphasis on the welfare of animals in their care and a hardworking team of volunteers are active all year round tending to their hounds.

The organising committee wish to thank all those who helped out last Sunday, everyone's contribution was much appreciated.
