Options for the future of Fermoy Weir are expected to be presented to the public for full consultation in August.

The news comes as Seán Sherlock, TD stated this week that the Draft Preliminary Report for the restoration of Fermoy Weir had been received by Cork County Council.

Commenting on the submission of this report, Deputy Sherlock said: “It would be good to see this progress to a final report quickly, with all local stakeholder input.”

Discussing the timeframe for progress on the Fermoy Weir project, Councillor Frank O’Flynn, chairperson of Fermoy District Council, reaffirmed that all parties were continuing to work towards an August deadline.
