Fermoy pharmacists Sarah Magner (Magner’s Pharmacy) and Mike Walsh (Walsh’s Pharmacy) with Kathy Maher, President of the IPU at the IPU South Regional AGM held in Macroom recently.
At a recent meeting in Macroom, pharmacists called for an expanded role to provide a wider range of services in the delivery of healthcare.
Kathy Maher, President of the IPU said that Ireland has so far failed to utilise the professional expertise of pharmacists to maximum effect - "and this despite the fact that no other part of the health service has the level of interaction with the general public as pharmacy does.”
