Entrepreneur, athlete and man about town, C J McCarthy is the new manager of popular Fermoy bar, Charlie Mac's. Not short on charm or personality, C J, brings plenty to the table and with the necessary effort, there's no reason why he can't move this attractive pub up another notch or two.
The new regime formally kicked in last weekend and there was a fine crowd on Saturday night to sample the ale, soak up the atmosphere and be inspired by the tunes of highly rated D J, Stevie McCarthy.
It's fair to say the pub trade isn't the force it was and owners/managers have their work cut out attracting patrons. While it's early days yet, Charlie Mac's should be well capable of cornering a section of the market. Acknowledged as 'a sporting bar', it caters for lovers of all the major field sports - Gaelic, soccer and rugby. And, if you've a party coming up, C J or any member of his team, would be delighted to hear from you.
